Hate Crime Casework

Every day people are bullied, called names, assaulted and targeted because they are seen as being different to others and because of prejudice. They are targeted because of the colour of their skin, because they arere feugees, asylum seekers, mirants, Gypsies, because of their religion, because they are disable or have learning difficulties, because of their sexuality, because they are older and seen as a soft target. These are called Hate Crime Incidents.  The RECC has caseworkers who provide advice, advocacy and support for victims of hate crime, taking up their cases with agencies such as the police and the council to make sure that effective action is taken to prevent the continuation of this menace.
